Le Pont Saint-BénézetSaint-Bénézet Bridge, commonly known as the Pont d’Avignon, is the remains of a bridge spanning the Rhône River and is now composed of four arches. It starts from the northern part of Avignon towards the Gard region but no longer reaches the opposite bank. On one of its piers stands the Saint-Bénézet Chapel, with the Saint-Nicolas Chapel located above it.

Le Palais des PapesThe Palace of the Popes in Avignon is one of the largest and most impressive Gothic buildings of the Middle Ages. Both a fortress and a palace, the papal residence served as the seat of Western Christianity during the 14th century.
Six conclaves were held at the Palace of the Popes, leading to the election of Benedict XII in 1335, Clement VI in 1342, Innocent VI in 1352, Urban V in 1362, Gregory XI in 1370 and Benedict XIII in 1394.
